Changing a Subconscious Belief - Overview
There are a number of esoteric theories regarding the law of attraction that hold promise but very little substance regarding how to implement their ideas and concepts. “Change your subconscious beliefs to change your life” is an idea that sounds loony-tunes on the surface. Why do I have subconscious beliefs I want to change? If it is subconscious, how do I know I have it? What is the benefit to changing a belief? And when I determine a belief I want to change, how do I go about changing it? Gregg Braden wrote a book called The Spontaneous Healing of Belief: Shattering the Paradigm of False Limitsthat clearly explains how these belief affects you. Much more importantly, he shows how to program your subconscious with beliefs you choose rather than ones that run your life without you knowing it.
A belief is something that you feel to be true. When you feel something to be true, your subconscious mind keeps that in its focus. What the subconscious mind focuses on tends to get attracted into your life. Sometimes subconscious beliefs can hold you back in hidden insidious ways.
If you have deep-rooted negative beliefs such as “money is the root of all evil”, “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer”, or “You have to work 80 hours a week to get rich”, they can work against your efforts to make more money. No matter how much effort you put forth to make more money, your subconscious works equally hard attracting your belief of “money is the root of all evil” so you don’t make any progress.
But it is not enough to know a belief can limit you. How do you transcend the limit of that belief? Gregg Braden tells us there are 2 ways to re-program your subconscious mind: Logically, or through the perception of a miracle.
A miracle is an event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature. This could be a story of someone falling off a building and surviving, a person’s dire cancer diagnosis going into remission, or a small person inexplicably lifting a 2-ton vehicle off a body…there are a number of stories where man has defied nature in a miracle. Braden says that the power of the miracle is not that we understand why it works, but that we must accept what it brings into our lives.
I haven’t observed any miracles other than the Boston Red Sox winning the world series. So I prefer to use his logic-based approach. The logical process designed by Gregg Braden has your own facts based on personal experience. These facts lead you to the conclusion that you have all you need to bring your desired outcome to life.
I’m sure that all sounds great, but how can you do it? I’m going to show you with Thursday’s and Friday’s posts. I will build 2 logic-based outcomes that I want to occur in my life. These outcomes are in my daily affirmations and now I am going to cement the belief in my subconscious that they will be achieved. The first desired outcome is to become a best-selling author. The second desired outcome is to lead sold-out meditation and spirituality workshiops worldwide.
